🎮 How to Play
Goal: Analyze patient symptomsSubjective experiences reported by the patient (e.g., nausea, fatigue)., clinical signsObjective clinical findings observable by a provider (e.g., edema, fever)., and arterial blood gas (ABG) results to correctly diagnose acid-base disorders. Each level has 10 questions. Collect as many lungs and kidneys as you can!
Rewards & Penalties:
- Correct respiratory diagnosis: Earn 1 lung 🫁
- Correct metabolic diagnosis: Earn 1 kidney 🫘
- Correct normal ABG: Earn 1 lung AND 1 kidney
- Wrong respiratory diagnosis: Lose 1 lung (if you have any)
- Wrong metabolic diagnosis: Lose 1 kidney (if you have any)
- Any mistake involving Normal ABG: Lose 1 lung AND 1 kidney (if you have any)
- This includes saying it’s normal when it isn’t, or saying it isn’t normal when it is!
Tip: Look at the pH first to determine if it’s acidosisA condition where blood pH falls below 7.35. (low) or alkalosisA condition where blood pH rises above 7.45. (high), then check if PaCO₂ or HCO₃⁻ is the primary cause!
