The teres minor muscle is a relatively small yet essential muscle located in the posterior shoulder.

Origin

The teres minor muscle originates from the lateral border of the scapula. It specifically originates from the upper two-thirds of the lateral border and the corresponding posterior surface.

Insertion

The teres minor inserts onto the greater tubercle of the humerus. This is one of the bony prominences of the upper arm bone.
