Dense Regular SLide 155 Esophagus

Microscopic image of dense regular connective tissue found in the esophagus. The tissue appears predominantly pink, with tightly packed, parallel collagen fibers. Scattered throughout are elongated, dark purple or black nuclei of fibroblasts. The regular arrangement of fibers provides strength in one direction.
