Adipose CT Slide 030 Mesentery

Histological micrograph of adipose tissue (mesentery). Numerous adipocytes with large, clear intracellular lipid droplets and peripherally located, dark-staining nuclei. The cytoplasm is sparse and thin. Connective tissue stains pink and borders the cells. Hematoxylin and eosin staining. High magnification.

Microscopic view of adipose tissue within the mesentery. The image shows closely packed fat cells, known as adipocytes, with a distinctive round shape where most of the cell volume is taken up by a lipid droplet. The nuclei of these cells appear small and are pushed to the periphery. The tissue is stained pink, highlighting the cell membranes and connective tissue strands that surround the adipocytes.
