Supraspinatus

The supraspinatus muscle is a key component of the rotator cuff, a group of muscles and tendons that stabilize the shoulder joint.

The supraspinatus muscle originates from the supraspinous fossa. This is a concavity in the scapula’s posterior surface. It is located above the spine of the scapula..

Insertion

It inserts into the greater tubercle of the humerus. This is a prominent bony projection on the lateral aspect of the upper arm bone.
